Hosting a Workshop
Hosting an Investigations Workshop is an excellent way to support the teachers in your school or district. We have found that the schools with the most success in their implementation are the ones that provide substantial support for their teachers.
To host an Investigations in the Classroom workshop, a Building Computational Fluency, K-5 workshop, or an Exploring Geometry, K-5 workshop, we require:- a minimum of 90 participants (some districts provide all the participants themselves, while some host workshops that are open to outside teachers);
- one large room for the opening and closing sessions, e.g., a library with tables, or a cafeteria;
- three or more additional rooms that will comfortably accommodate up to 35 participants—each room must be air-conditioned and will need a TV/VCR, an overhead projector and screen, and a flip chart on an easel;
- a computer lab that can accommodate 35 adults (this is only for the Exploring Geometry, K-5, workshop).
- teachers (volunteers), equal to the number of leaders, attend at no cost;
- reduced rates apply for all-district workshops. Please call for details.
