Customized Professional Development
Customized professional development days are available throughout the school year for teachers and school leaders. Work with teachers includes facilitating grade level meetings, looking at student work, observing and providing support in classrooms, and planning for parent sessions. Work with school leaders includes refining implementation plans, thinking about district or state-specific needs, and planning for professional development to support teachers.
Customized professional development days are one way to support the teachers in your school or district. We have found that the schools with the most success in their implementation are the ones that have a sound implementation plan and provide substantial support for their teachers. While in some schools that work happens internally, in others the use of external consultants is appropriate and necessary.
